Ever get the feeling that you shouldn't do something right before you're about to do it? Call it whatever you like, but you just seem to know that action will product an unfavorable outcome. Man, am I living that out now. Recently, I spent way too much time zeroing in on something I thought would be good for me (or make me happy, or keep me satisfied), when I instinctively knew there was something more for me somewhere else. Although I'm left with the embarrassment of picking up the pieces, I choose to learn and grow from this. I have a life to live, and one day this will be a hilarious story. But until then, I'll have to lay low (and by low, I mean creeping on the ocean floor).
I almost forgot to share my Halloween costume! I entered this little number into a costume contest. My inspiration was the fashionable and poised women of decades past, with a heavy nod to the 50s. More pictures after the jump:
Femme fatale. "Nothing is scarier than a woman who knows her power."
On days like today, when it's halfway snowing outside and my room is extremely cold and the only "food" in my refrigerator are two 24-pack cases of Hawaiian Punch, crawling around my house in leggings, a scarf, and knee-high socks seems like the appropriate choice. Enter Alexa Chung. I absolutely love her fashion choices because they're fashionable AND realistic. She never looks like she's trying to be fashionable either, her clothes are naturally chic. I won't even start talking about her hair, lawd.
I'm the type of person who has a thousand things to do, but somehow finds the time to shop online at least once a day. My current must haves are: this bad boy in red (and eventually black and white), Wellies in black (since the weather here is ridiculously rainy), this cutout minidress by SMG, and finally the biggest size of this in purple...but that's beside the point! I'm always on my hustle to get this sweater that my closet yearns for or a new dress or top. Sometimes, I feel like getting everything I want for my closet is the most important thing, but it's not. I've realized that it's much more important to appreciate what you have, and I have quite a lot to be grateful for. If I get around to buying even half of the things on my list, I can pat myself on the back. Until then, I'm gonna be happy with the things I have.
And now, for a quick public service announcement:
Desperately seeking leopard heels? Look no further! No longer available.
I've missed blogging, but I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Stay tuned!
