Everything is everything

As you already know, I love to surf the internet, so a few things have been catching my eye (does Santa read blogs?). To start, these Jeffery Campbells are at the top of every list I make. Something tells me they'd solve a majority of the problems in my life. On the other hand, I've been drooling over this dress by SuperModel Gear for quite some time. I dream about these babies as I'm drifting off to sleep, by Sam Edelman on Nasty Gal. Last but not least, I want one of everything on American Apparel, namely crop tops like these to pair with high-waisted jeans on brisk winter days. If only, if only.

Speaking of Santa, It's almost Christmas! Unfortunately, I'm still in school. Though I technically shouldn't be relaxing just yet, I'm doing my fair share of it already. I want to be on Winter break so badly, but I don't know if I'm ready for 2012 just yet. By January, I will know: 1) if I got into my dream school 2) what I got for Christmas/ will buy with Christmas money 3) which scholarships I need to start focusing on 4) which subjects I need to pull my grades up in and 5) plenty, plenty more. So clearly, the new year fosters a plethora of emotions within me can be worrisome. And the award for Understatement of the Year goes to...

Pretending to be Rudolph is alleviating my stress.

Positivity

"I'm unique in the respect that I'm not you...Isn't life cruel enough without cruel words? You see, words are like shoes; they're just something to stand on. I wish you could be in my shoes, but they're probably so high you'd fall off and die. For you, words are definitely not shoes. They're weapons and tools of destruction and your time is boring unless you're putting something down. What would life be if we believed what we read and a smile is just hiding a frown? Come now, isn't life a little better with a pair of good shoes?" -Prince

Blame the mailman

The most exciting part of my life is when I discover new exercises at the gym. The last time I got extremely excited was when my parents finally bought me some dinosaur nuggets (and I finished them in 2 days). Lying on the floor in my bedroom is now considered an activity. Needless to say, my life is pretty monotone. No conflict and no excitement. No despair and no delirium. Nothing stands out anymore, and the days run together like Van Gogh's Night.
The only thing that breaks up this haze are my occasional moments of clarity. It's as if, for a few seconds, I understand what I want and where I'm going, but those moments come just as quickly as they go. Sadly, I slip back into the constants in my life: school, gym, food, sleep. Wash, rinse, repeat. Part of me is waiting for someone to wake me up and say, "Relax, it was only a dream!" And yet, the other side of me tells me that I should be grateful to experience these moments at all. Usually, I end up somewhere in between.

I wish I was an asteroid

I've been getting shortchanged quite a bit lately, as in more than once or twice. A few times would be excusable, but I'm beginning to think that it's me. In my head, I'm tenacious, but it usually doesn't come across that way to other people. In fact, I'm pretty sure that a lot of people think I'm a punk. Then again, there are plenty of other people that think I'm a coldhearted witch, so how am I supposed to rectify one image without further damaging the other? So far, the only solution I have is incredibly cliche: Keep calm and carry on. I know, I'm a cheeseball.

Meant to be

Seasons greetings (I'm so happy I can finally say that)! So this post is of an old outfit, but the first time I photographed it, the photos ended up weird and discolored. I don't know why I'm suprised, it was a pretty dreary day. These turned out exceptionally better. Anyway, I was feeling a huge 70s influence that day, complete with the all-over denim look and a paisley top. I'm wearing the Litas, available herehere, and basically anywhere, and the pouch I introduced a few posts back. Most days, I feel like I should've been born in another decade, and with this outfit, I'd totally fill in.

In other news, au revoir November and hello Christmas!

Happy (Late) Halloween!

I almost forgot to share my Halloween costume! I entered this little number into a costume contest. My inspiration was the fashionable and poised women of decades past, with a heavy nod to the 50s. More pictures after the jump:

It Was All A Dream

Today was just one of those days. I'm pretty sure that all the things that could've gone my way today decided to turn around and smack me in the face. But here's the resolution: I'm still here. Nothing broke me since I decided to rise above it all. So I've got no boyfriend, no gym, no SAT scores (won't even get into that!), and you know what? I'm just gonna move on.

Back to Business

I've got to be honest, I'm a little less than excited about my senior year. If one is supposed to have the time of their lives right now, I think I missed the memo. That boredom with school has manifested itself into pretty typical outfits, and for that I am deeply regretful. This weekend, I plan to go shopping for something (clothes? jewelry? shoes?) rare and exquisite, and hopefully that will translate into an exciting life. Hey, a girl can dream right?
