Meant to be

Seasons greetings (I'm so happy I can finally say that)! So this post is of an old outfit, but the first time I photographed it, the photos ended up weird and discolored. I don't know why I'm suprised, it was a pretty dreary day. These turned out exceptionally better. Anyway, I was feeling a huge 70s influence that day, complete with the all-over denim look and a paisley top. I'm wearing the Litas, available herehere, and basically anywhere, and the pouch I introduced a few posts back. Most days, I feel like I should've been born in another decade, and with this outfit, I'd totally fill in.

In other news, au revoir November and hello Christmas!

Happy (almost) Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is in a couple of days, and since the workload for school is winding down before the vacation, I've gotten the chance to reflect (more than I usually do) on the course of my life and such. I'm so glad to be here, living the life I am, around people I absolutely adore. In short, I'm thankful for that.

Additionally, I'm thankful for the fabulous things I've picked up over the last week or two! I didn't snap pictures of everything, but these few are in heavy rotation as of late.

I have worn this faux leather jacket 3 times in the past 5 days, and I'll be wearing it tomorrow. And the leather pouch is the most useful handbag/clutch that I've ever had. Love them both! Jacket by Urban Outfitters, pouch by American Apparel.

Another shot of the jacket and pouch.

I am happiest when I wear sweaters. This one is warm, but it isn't unreasonably heavy. Though it appears white, it's actually cream, a nice change for my wardrobe. By American Apparel.

Before I forget, there's one other thing I'm thankful for: everyone who reads my blog! It's so lovely to speak and be heard, so I hope you all know I appreciate you! Have a wonderful (and filling) Thanksgiving!

xoxo,
Camille

I will step on your foot

Ever get the feeling that you shouldn't do something right before you're about to do it? Call it whatever you like, but you just seem to know that action will product an unfavorable outcome. Man, am I living that out now. Recently, I spent way too much time zeroing in on something I thought would be good for me (or make me happy, or keep me satisfied), when I instinctively knew there was something more for me somewhere else. Although I'm left with the embarrassment of picking up the pieces, I choose to learn and grow from this. I have a life to live, and one day this will be a hilarious story. But until then, I'll have to lay low (and by low, I mean creeping on the ocean floor).

Empty Room

Empty room, empty room
How am I gonna fill U?
How am I gonna fill this empty room?
Love is strong, however long
We should've been 4ever
How am I ever gonna fill this empty room?
Found a strand of your hair
By the bathroom window
How am I ever gonna get U off my mind?
In my bed, in my head
Every word U've spoken
Now how am I gonna fill this empty room?
Lonely hearts, worlds apart
Why should they be broken?
When we could be somewhere makin' love
Love is strong, however long
We should've been forever
Baby, why did U leave me all alone?
Barren walls, tears fall
What's the use in cryin'
I gotta find a way, find a way to fill this empty room

Happy (Late) Halloween!

I almost forgot to share my Halloween costume! I entered this little number into a costume contest. My inspiration was the fashionable and poised women of decades past, with a heavy nod to the 50s. More pictures after the jump:
